In National Reconciliation Week, the UNAA Young Professionals Queensland heard from inspiring speakers on Sat 30 May in our first online webinar.

We were informed, inspired, and engaged by young community leaders as part of our ongoing series ‘The Future We Want’. The event discussed issues relating to Indigenous health, community activism, climate change and actions towards being a better ally and ensuring a better future for everyone.

Our moderator:

Taylor Clarke: Gundungurra community activist on ‘Give a Dam’ campaign and educator to schools, local and state governments in NSW; based on Tharawal, Gundungurra and Darug lands.

Our speakers:

Tamika Sadler: Brisbane SEED Youth Indigenous Climate Network (SEED) Coordinator; based on Yuggera and Yugambeh lands.

Robati Harrison: Brisbane based Coordinator for Pacific Climate Warrior (PCW); based on Yuggera and Yugambeh lands.

Ami Diop: Young professional working in the Indigenous health sector (Grassroots and academic). Ami is of Torres Strait Island and Senegalese descent and is based on Yuggera and Turrbal lands.
