From 20-25 May, former UN Ambassador and Staff member, Carlisle Richardson, led our first ever small group tour of International Geneva and the UN.
After a week of meetings with Geneva-based UN officials, representatives of UN-related organisations and NGOs, the group was exhausted but inspired. We also took part in a tour of the Palais des Nations, the UN’s Geneva headquarters, and sat in on the 78th Session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child in the historic Palais Wilson, former home to the League of Nations.
Group member Alicia Mathews said the tour was “a life-changing experience to see firsthand the workings of the United Nations and their role in supporting peace, wellbeing and human rights for all”.
Alicia said she would recommend future tours to “anyone with an interest in the values of the United Nations and a strong interest in learning what you can do to be a good global citizen”.
We now head to New York from 14 to 19 October with another group of 10 participants.
